The Orientation Day for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Class of 2028 was held on March 17th, 2025. The event marked the beginning of an exciting academic journey for the new cohort. Faculty members warmly welcomed the incoming students, introducing them to the program’s values, curriculum, and expectations. A highlight of the event was the inspiring address by Principal Dr. Erum Tanveer, shared her vision for academic excellence, professional growth, and the importance of integrity in healthcare. The day featured inspiring addresses, an overview of campus resources, and interactive sessions aimed at fostering a sense of community and professionalism. The Orientation set a positive and enthusiastic tone for the students as they embark on their path to becoming future leaders in physical therapy.
The Annual Research Day was celebrated at United College of Physical Therapy on December 18, 2024, showcasing the academic excellence and hard work of final-year DPT students. The event featured engaging poster and PowerPoint presentations, where students highlighted their research projects to a panel of esteemed jurors. The jury assessed the presentations and awarded shields to the winners and runners-up, recognizing their outstanding contributions. The day was further enriched by inspiring addresses from the Principal, Dr. Erum Tanveer, and Prof. Dr. Bilal Faiz Khan, who applauded the students’ efforts and emphasized the importance of research in advancing the field of physical therapy. The event was a proud moment for the college, celebrating innovation, dedication, and academic achievement.
On the 29th of November, 2024, United College of Physical Therapy bid a heartfelt farewell to the DPT Classes of 2023 and 2024, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another in their lives. The evening was a beautiful blend of emotions, celebration, and gratitude. Emotional speeches from students and faculty filled the room, reflecting on years of hard work, growth, and shared memories that shaped their journey. Vibrant dance performances brought joy and energy to the night, celebrating the bonds forged over the years. Special titles were bestowed upon the graduates and teachers, including Lady & Lord of the Evening and Student of the Year, adding a touch of honor and recognition to the festivities. As the evening unfolded, laughter mingled with tears, and the atmosphere was one of pride and nostalgia. The farewell concluded with a sumptuous dinner, where smiles and goodbyes were exchanged, leaving everyone with hearts full of gratitude and memories to cherish for a lifetime.
The DPT Class of 2024 celebrated their Grad Week with a series of vibrant and memorable events, showcasing their unity and joy. The week kicked off with Colors Day, where students embraced the spirit of diversity through colorful attire. Scrub Day added a playful twist with an exciting water fight that brought everyone closer. A relaxing Picnic to a Farmhouse offered a chance to unwind and connect in a serene setting, while Movie Day provided entertainment and bonding over shared favorites. On Character Day, students displayed creativity and humor by dressing up as unique personas. A heartfelt Lunch by the Principal and Faculty reflected the deep bond of care and encouragement shared, while the week concluded with an elegant Annual Dinner hosted by the students in honor of their mentors. Grad Week was a perfect blend of fun, appreciation, and reflection, making it an unforgettable milestone for the DPT, Class of 2024.
On November 7, 2024, a workshop titled “Smart Ergonomics for Everyday Life” was conducted at DP World for its executive employees. The session was facilitated by Dr. Erum Tanveer, Principal of United College of Physical Therapy, who shared her expertise on integrating ergonomic principles into daily routines to enhance productivity and prevent physical strain. The workshop focused on practical strategies for optimizing workplace posture, reducing musculoskeletal stress, and promoting overall well-being. Dr. Erum’s engaging and insightful session was highly appreciated, leaving participants empowered with tools to improve their work-life quality through smart ergonomic practices.
The United College of Physical Therapy (UCPT) recently hosted an insightful seminar titled “Managing Academic Stress & Burnout”, on 1st Nov,2024 aimed at addressing the challenges faced by students and educators in maintaining their mental and physical well-being. The event featured distinguished speakers who shared their expertise on the subject. Dr. (H) Yogi Wajahat, a renowned yoga expert and advisor to the Karachi City Chapter, highlighted the importance of yoga and mindfulness as effective tools for combating burnout. Dr. Aftab Ahmed Khan, President of the Karachi City Chapter and an experienced public health professional and family physician, discussed the broader public health implications of stress management. Additionally, Dr. Syed Masood, an endocrinologist and advisor to the Karachi City Chapter, shed light on the physiological effects of stress and practical strategies to mitigate its impact. The seminar provided attendees with valuable insights and actionable techniques to navigate academic pressures effectively.
On September 27, 2024, the United College of Physical Therapy hosted a captivating Qawwali night featuring the renowned qawwal Jawwad Raza. The event drew a large audience, eager to experience the spiritual and musical richness of Sufi traditions.
As the evening unfolded, Jawwad Raza and his ensemble delivered soul-stirring performances, blending traditional melodies with contemporary flair. The atmosphere was electric, filled with clapping and heartfelt singing from the audience, creating a sense of community and shared joy.
The night highlighted not only the beauty of Qawwali music but also the cultural heritage it represents, leaving attendees with a profound sense of connection and reflection. This event was a memorable celebration of art and spirituality, underscoring the college’s commitment to promoting cultural activities within the community.
Two talented DPT students, Tasbiah Noor and Muhammad Arbaaz, from United College of Physical Therapy, participated in the prestigious First Inter-University Naat Competition organized by Green International University, Lahore. The event, held on September 27, 2024, brought together participants from various institutions, offering remarkable prizes. Their participation reflects their passion and commitment to excellence, bringing pride to UCPT with their remarkable efforts.
The Annual World Physical Therapy Day as celebrated by United College of Physical Therapy on 8th Sep, 2024 started with a flurry of excited mutters and activity. Our esteemed guest speaker .. spoke with the students about the importance of education for all classes of Pakistan. The very first Quiz Competition of UCPT hosted by Kiran Konain and Rohain Danish commenced with admirable participation by all batches of UCPT, and with their hard work and witty comments Team 2024 finally won the big prize. Through the expert hosting by Muskan Fatima and Anam Javed, the audience navigated through the various performances and presentations by all the students. A highlight of the day was the Career Counselling Session by Dr. Hira Saleem which the students listened to with apt interest. Overall the day ended with a huge success for all the involved participants and audience!
On September 5, 2024, the United College of Physical Therapy hosted an insightful seminar featuring Ms. Hira Saleem, a Chartered Physiotherapist with NHS Professionals in the United Kingdom. The session focused on “NHS Career: Challenges, Opportunities, and Advancement in Rehabilitation.”
